Starting from the genius of Igor Stravinsky, choreographer Roberta Ferrara brings to life a reinterpretation of the famous work where the scenes no longer represent the sacrifice of the virgin to the deity but a utopian community that embraces the principle of equality and harmonious coexistence, ready to sacrifice itself for the common good, a collective worship in the name of ideals, a death that prepares for an unknown rebirth. Always fascinated by ritual forms, choreographer Roberta Ferrara sees in rituals the value of gesture, time, care understood as sharing, of the community that gathers. Composer Benedetto Boccuzzi weaves through the Stravinskian score with electronics, transposing it into a new augmented and multidimensional space. A creation that gathers primordial, visceral energies and pagan sublimations through a choral choreographic writing redrawn on the bodies of the ten dancers. A manifesto, where it is still possible to believe in the miracle that something wonderful can flourish.
