The Teatro Stabile del Friuli Venezia Giulia brings it to the stage under the direction of Paolo Valerio in a new production - produced together with Goldenart Production - as part of a rich research path dedicated to the very important cultural treasures of Trieste and its territory. The monumental figure of Italo Svevo and his extraordinary psychoanalytic novel represent a moment of profound, universal significance. "Zeno's Conscience", on the other hand, also has its own lively theatricality, for the experimentation of an innovative writing and for being dominated by the captivating, complex and very current figure of Zeno Cosini. The novel, in fact, flows from the protagonist's notes as he undergoes treatment from the psychoanalyst Dr. S, trying, in that way, to solve his malaise living, his neurosis and his inability to feel "in tune" with the world and reality. His perception of himself as inept and sick, and his stubborn - but never entirely convinced - attempts to change and heal, lead Zeno to traverse existence intertwining surprisingly bourgeois everyday life with surreal episodes rich in humor and truth, and with illuminations that possess a force that still shakes us.
