Lovers follows the story of the relationship between Giulio and Claudia, interspersing their hotel encounters with the dialogues each of them has with Dr. Cioffi, who obviously is unaware that her two problematic patients are in a relationship with each other. Thus, their story unfolds between bed encounters, and the truths or lies they simultaneously tell the doctor, whom they visit alone or together with their respective partners, Laura and Roberto. A progression of time filled with misunderstandings, deceptions, missteps, fake introductions, lies, complications, caution, and even narrowly avoided troubles.

Until something disrupts all the balances.

Lovers is a new comedy in two acts about love, sex, betrayal, and marriage, about long-term relationships and short-lived adventures, about masculinity and femininity, and ultimately about the search for happiness that always takes different paths than those expected. A brilliant and entertaining comedy, with situations and dialogues that elicit laughter, but also an exploration of the feelings of a couple who find refuge, comfort, fun in secrecy, but also struggle, worry, and perhaps danger.
