Trekking Sentiero Difesa delle Valli - Monti Dauni

**Sunday, March 9** a great event awaits us in association with FIE (Italian Hiking Federation): SCIENCE FESTIVAL in the municipality of Carlantino (Fg), which will offer us its warm hospitality. A day that will allow us to learn about and appreciate the high cultural and landscape value, local food and wine products from the **Carlantino agro and Lake Occhito**, the largest artificial lake in Italy and the second largest in Europe, created by damming the Fortore river. We will visit the surface and underground facilities of the dam, walk along its banks with a marine biologist for explanations about aquatic fauna, and two naturalists for terrestrial flora and fauna, enter Molise, and return to Puglia. A social lunch animated by music and joined by many friends from different hiking associations will joyfully conclude the day.

6:30 AM: Meeting at Bar Meeting, Corso Garibaldi, 54- Bisceglie.

9:30 AM: Visit facilities
10:30 AM: Start Trek (suitable for everyone, no particular technical skills required)
1:30 PM: Social lunch (cost 10 euros), music, dancing.....
Around 5:00 PM: Departure for return
