Max Liebermann. Un impressionista di Berlino

From September 20, 2024 to February 9, 2025, the Goethe House Museum in Rome presents the exhibition "Max Liebermann. An Impressionist from Berlin" curated by Alice Cazzola, the first retrospective in Italy of the German Jewish painter Max Liebermann (1847-1935).

"To celebrate 150 years since the birth of Impressionism, the Casa di Goethe brings to Rome the most important German painter of this artistic movement," says Gregor H. Lersch, director of the Casa di Goethe, who continues: "our exhibition is a unique opportunity to see Max Liebermann's work in all its facets in Italy.

The exhibition is realized in cooperation with the Liebermann-Villa am Wannsee in Berlin, where a show on the artist's relationship with Italy is ongoing until October 7, 2024, and with the kind support of the National Roman Museum. It is sponsored by the Embassy of the Federal Republic of Germany in Italy and the Embassy of Italy in the Federal Republic of Germany.

At the Goethe House Museum, the exhibition aims to present the artist's production in its entirety, thanks to 32 works that reconstruct his most important phases.
